Collaboration, Innovation & Action
On 16th September, we had the privilege of engaging in meaningful discussions on the future of Assam’s agricultural value chain with Shri Atul Bora ji, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, Assam, and the leadership of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) — Shri Ibon Teron, ACS – Deputy Secretary, Shri Mizi Kro, Miss Pirbi Tissopi, and Shri Mukul ji.
The dialogue brought together perspectives from both Erde Agro Ecosystems and Axis Bank – Bharat Banking, with a shared vision of empowering farmers and FPOs in Assam.
From Erde Agro, the discussions were led by our Directors Mr. Sukrut Mehta and Mr. Sanjiv Masalia, along with Dr. W. Lalit Singh, who heads our business development efforts in the Northeast.
From Axis Bank, we were joined by Shri Salim Kamal (Executive Vice President) and Shri Ajaya Malla (Senior Vice President), both deeply committed to advancing rural financial inclusion.
Our conversation focused on integrated, farmer-centric solutions, including:
- – Satellite-based farm monitoring & soil testing
- – Crop insurance & credit access
- – High-quality inputs & market linkages
- – Transition from IPM to Organic practices
These are not isolated initiatives but interconnected tools that can truly de-risk agriculture and sustainably enhance farmer incomes when implemented together.
We are grateful to the Government of Assam and KAAC for their openness to such partnerships and their commitment to building a scientific, market-oriented, and farmer-first ecosystem.
At Erde Agro, we believe that real change in agriculture comes from collaboration — aligning technology, finance, and farmer knowledge into one ecosystem of growth.
